GARY D. MOONEY
Gary D. Mooney, age 56 of Crofton, MD, formerly of Gibson City died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, 6-25-2002 at North Arundel Hospital in Glen Burnie, Md. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. July 1 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gibson City with the Reverend William Smith officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation was from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. July 1 at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City. Pallbearers were Mark Kumler, Mark Schuler, Todd Sommer, Kurt Sommer, Ben Clayton, Terry Bell, Tim Mooney, Tom Mooney and Chad Young. Mr. Mooney was born 4-14-1946 at Urbana, a son of John and Evadna Kumler Mooney. He married Colette M. Paquette on 2-5-1999 at Annapolis, MD. Survivors include his wife, Colette M. Mooney of Crofton, MD; two sons, Timothy Dean Mooney of Port Huron, MI and Tom Alan (Rebecca) Mooney of LaJunta, CO; his mother, Evadna Mooney of Gibson City; one sister, Gail Schuler of Peoria and one grandson, Mason Mooney. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Mooney was a graduate of Illinois Commercial College in Champaign. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Mooney had been employed by Infinit Computer Company for 27 years. Memorials may be made to Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City.

Mrs. Mattie Mooney, 71, of Gibson City died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, 12-19-1961 at Gibson City Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for nine days. Services were held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Father William Kirk officiating. Burial in Drummr Twp Cemetery. The Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. She was born in Sibley, Ford Co., Il. 8-26-1890 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Nance. She married Edward W. Mooney in Gibson City, who preceded her in death 3-27-1950. She had lived in Gibson City for more than 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She is survived by four sons; Paul of Gibson City; Joe of Columbus, Ohio; Martin of Foosland and Vincent of Cleveland, Ohio. Nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter of Lake Bloomington, 3 sisters, Emma Hamilton of Chatsworth, Nettie Compton of Pontiac; and Ethel Kaufman of Danvers. Paul S. Mooney, 75, of Gibson City died at 7:20 p.m. Monday 2-171997 at Gilman Nursing Home, Gilman. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Bill Slikas officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Betty Mooney; one son, Stephen Mooney, Baltimore, MD.; one daughter, Janice Schroeder, Gibson City; one brother, Joseph Mooney, Wildwood; and five grandchildren. Also surviving is one son-in-law, Jim Schroeder, Gibson City. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He was born 6-19-1921 in rural Gibson City, a son of Edward and Mattie Nance Mooney. He married Betty A. Kingren 10-31-1942 in Gibson City. Mr. Mooney farmed with his family and worked for many years with Kingren Construction. He lived in Gibson City all his life. Married 12-24-1910 to Mattie Vance of Cropsey, Il. Four children born to this union, 3 sons and a daughter. Funeral services for Walter Mooney of Proctor were held in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gibson City at 11:00 last Monday morning, December 31, in charge of Father O.T. Fulton. Burial in Gibson City Cemetery. Mr. Mooney's death occured at St. Joseph Hospital, Bloomington, Il., at 3:50 p.m. last Sunday afternoon, following an attack of typhoid fever. It was the second death in the family from the same disease. His sister, Agnes Marie Mooney, died 12-13-1934 in St. Joseph Hospital. Walter Mooney was born near Arrowsmith, Il, his age at death being 22 yr 2 mo 12 da. He was the son of Frank and Mattie Vance Mooney. His father died in 1920, and his mother later married his father's brother, Edward W. Mooney. Funeral rites for Agnes Marie Mooney, 18, of Proctor, Il were held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, 12-15-1934 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Gibson City. Father M.A. Coffey officiating. Miss Mooney passed away at 11:00 Thursday morning December 13 in St. Joseph Hospital, Bloomington, where she had been a patient since December 5. She had been ill with typhoid fever for several weeks. Agnes Marie Mooney was born near Arrowsmith, McLean County, Il. 12-2-1916 the daughter of Frank and Mattie Nance Mooney. Her father died in 1920 and her mother later married, Edward W. Mooney, brother of her father. The family lived at Proctor, 4 miles south of Gibson City for a number of years. She was a bright and lovable girl. Martin A. Mooney 69, died at 1:30 a.m. yesterday at Gibson Community Hospital Annex. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Gibson City, the Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. today at the Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, with a wake service at 7 p.m. Mr. Mooney was born 10-24-1914 in Colfax, a son of Frank and Mattie Nance Mooney. He married Hazel Anderson 12-9-1937 in Burlington, Iowa and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Judy Peterson, Gibson City and Wanda Swearingen, Elliott; three brothers, Vincent, Cleveland, Ohio; Paul, Gibson City and Joseph, Wildwood; and five grandchildren. Guy Moore, age 83 of Gibson City died at 9:10 a.m. Saturday 4-18-1992 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. His funeral was conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Christ, Gibson City with Michael J. Schmidt officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation was held from 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City and from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Pallbearers included David Smith, Tim Smith, Roger Smith, Gary Moore, David Welborn, Mark Moseby and John Moseby. He was born 8-12-1908 at Clifty KY a son of Robert T. and Minnie Strader Moore. He married Flossie McPherson on 10-17-1928 at Elkton, KY and she survives. Other survivors include four sons, Bobby of Forrest; Ronald of Sibley; Johnny of Fairbury; and Jimmy of Melvin; three daughters, Berneta Baker of Bloomington, Indiana; Leatrice Moseby of Franklin, TN; and Martha Sue Smith of Sidney; four brothers, Ira of Lewisberg, KY; Russel of Hopkinsville, KY; Ralph of Clifty, KY; and Harold of Gibson City; five sisters, Estel McKinny of Hopkinsville, KY; Delia Welborn of Fisher; Stella Audas of Louisville, KY; Lorene Edwards of Sikeston, MO; and Zula Mae Rainwater, Sharon Grove, KY; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Lillie Bell Moore, 79, of Gibson City died at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday 5-18-1994 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lamb Funral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Michael J. Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Moore was born 10-22-1914 in Greenville, KY, a daughter of George and Mary McGhee Epley. She married Harold Moore 12-22-1934 in Elkton, KY and he survives. Other survivors include one sister, Della Weakman, Piper City; one brother, Buren Epley, Pontiac; two granddaughters reared in the Moore home, Pamela Foster and Melanie Crabill, both of Bloomington; and five great-grandchildren. The Reverend Charles W. Moore, age 86 of Gibson City died at 10:40 a.m. Friday 3-25-1994 at Gibson Community Hospital Annex in Gibson City. His funeral was at 3 p.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City with the Reverends Eugene Janes and Phillip Curran officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery. Visitation was from 1:30 - 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Rodney Mott, Bruce Summers, Paul Moore, Jim Gambill, Harold Medler and Matt Provin. The Reverend Moore was born 10-25-1907 at Equality, a son of Francis Marion and Cora Reeder Moore. He married Lillian Baker in July 1932. She died in July 1954. He married Velma F. Wolfe on 6-1-1958 at Decatur. She died 8-24-1990. Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Veach of Vienna; one step-son, Donald Wolfe of Winston-Salem, NC; a step-daughter, Mona Summers of Gibson City; one sister, Lucy Moore of Gibson City; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death. The Reverend Moore moved from Decatur to Gibson City in 1989. He was a Primitive Baptist minister for 52 years, retiring in 1989. He was an elder at the Zoar Primitive Baptist Church at Findley. He owned and operated Arbor Dell Mobile Home Park in Decatur for 40 years, retiring in 1985. VELMA F. (TALBERT) WOLFE, MOORE
Velma F. Moore, age 79 of Gibson City died at 7:02 a.m. Friday 8-24-1990 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. Her funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City with the Reverends Eugene James and Laurence Sunkel officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Pallbearers included Bruce Summers, Gary Davis, Rodney Mott, Harold Medler, Jim Gambill, and Paul Moore. Visitation was held from 5 - 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. She was born 4-23-1911 in Wayne County, a daughter of Silas and Bertha Shreve Talbert. She married John Leslie Wolfe on 8-30-1929 in Mount Vernon. He died in January 1944. She then married Charles W. Moore on 6-1-1958 in Decatur and he survives. Other survivors include one son, Donald Wolfe of Winstson-Salem, NC; one daughter, Mona Summers of Gibson City; one step-daughter, Beverly Veach of Vienna; six grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Talbert of Lincoln and Wesley Talbert of Wayne City; four sisters, Ruby Woolever and Opal Johnson, both of Wayne City; Eva Woolever, Cisne and Nola Griffith of Mattoon. Mrs. Moore had been a resident of Gibson City since May 1989. She had lived in Decatur for 34 years prior to that time. MARJORIE (THOMAS) MORLOCK
Marjorie J. Morlock, age 89 of Gibson City, died at 7 a.m.Tuesday 2-22-2000 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Gibson City. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with the Reverend Randall Robinson and the Reverend Al Schneck officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 - 8 p.m. Feb. 23 at the funeral home. Active pallbearers were Jack Royal, Steve Harper, Steve Bell, Ron Knapp, Doug Roesch, and Don Jensen. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Richard Morlock, Jack Morlock, and Doug Knapp. Mrs. Morlock was born 10-8-1910 at Gibson City, a daughter of Guy and Lula Jeane Briggs Thomas. She married Gordon L. Morlock on 12-24-1945 at Springfield. He died 2-29-1980. Survivors include two step-sons, Jack Morlock of Princeville and Richard Morlock of Glen Ellyn; one step-daughter, Arlene Gassen of Rotonda West, Fl; ten step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Thomas of Gibson City; and two nieces Pamela Bell of Bradley and Kathleen Thomas of Champaign. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother and two grandchildren. A former resident of Danbury, WI, Peoria and West Lake, Ohio, Mrs. Morlock was a resident of Gibson City. Mary Louise Morris, 65, of Gibson City died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday 1-29-1998 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. B.E. Koonce officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gibson Community Hospital. Mrs. Morris was born 12-19-1932 at Sesser, a daughter of John T. and Opal M. Shaw Cross. She married Robert Wallace Morris 11-22-1958 at Champaign and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Linda VerVoorn, Chicago; and Chrysta Reeder, Sibley; one son, Al Morris, Champaign; five brothers, Robert Cross, Kansas City, Mo.; Delbert Cross, Bethany; Howard Eugene Cross, Decatur; Wayne Cross, Peoria; and Charles Cross, Ridgeway; one sister, Ruth Stewart, Benton; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. Mrs. Morris lived most of her life in the Gibson City and Elliott areas.
WILLIAM J. MORRIS
William John Morris, 75, died at his home on South Church Street at 5:30 this morning, 2-13-1936. He had been in failing health for some time, but his passing was very sudden, resulting from anemia and heart trouble. Mr. Morris was one of the community's early pioneers, having lived here since he was 9 years old. He was born 4-11-1860 on a farm near Blue Mound. He came to this neighborhood with his parents in 1869, living on a farm in Champaign County, a mile south of Old South Union M.P. Church, for many years. He was married to Miss Ida Blisssard on 1-27-1875, who preceded him in death on 10-23-1934. Mr. and Mrs. Morris moved to Gibson City 1-27-1919, their wedding anniversasry. They were early members of the South Union Church, transferring their membership to the United Brethren Church when they moved to this city. Mr. Morris is survived by two sons, Weldon, of Hoopeston Il.; and Clarence of Gibson City, with whom he made his home.
IDA A. (BLISSARD) MORRIS
Mrs. William J. Morris, pioneer resident of Gibson City, died suddenly from an acute heart attack at 9 o'clock on Tuesday evening, 10-23-1934, aged 71 years, 5 months and 26 days. While her health had not been robust in recent years, Mrs. Morris was not ill until she was stricken Tuesday evening. She had attended to her regular work on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at the United Brethren Church at 2:30 p.m. The services will be in charge of Rev. B. Lee Towsley, of Decatur, former pastor here; who will be assisted by the local pastor, Rev. Clifford Stabler. Interment will be made in the Gibson Cemetery. Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband; two sons, Weldon, of Chicago and Clarence of Gibson City; one brother, Jay Blissard, of Normal; and one sister, Mrs. Irvin Knapp of Ark.
JULIA C. (WITTER) MORRIS
Julia C. Morris, 88, of Gibson City, died at 3:45 a.m. yesterday at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Robert A. Hoover officiating. Burial in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She was born 9-4-1899, at Aden, a daughter of George and Louisa Jenkins Witter. She married George Wallace Morris on 6-22-1918 at Aden. He died 11-23-1978. Survivors include three sons, Bernell, Berryville, Ark.; Wayne, Fairfield; and Robert, Gibson City; a sister, Dorothy Rawls, Orlando, Fl.; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. CECIL A. "JAKE" MOTT
Funeral services are pending at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City for Cecil A. "Jake" Mott, 56, of Gibson City, who died at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday (3-10-1971) at St. John's Mercy Hospital Burn Center, Creve Coeur, MO., after suffering burns over 90 percent of his body following an auto accident Monday night. The accident occured just east of the former "Dead Man's" Curve on Illinois 9 near Elliott at about 9 p.m. Mott's car hit a bridge abutment, tore in half and exploded into flames. According to authorities, he was thrown from the automobile, his clothes in flames. Mr. Mott was born 10-2-1914 near Anchor, a son of Cecil A., Sr., and Augusta Brading Mott. He married Juanita Love. Later, he married Evelyn Strange and she survives. Also surviving are 4 sons, Cecil, III; Jerald; Nelson D.; and Rodney; a daughter, Joyce; five brothers, Willard, Colfax; Earl, Leonard, Virgil, all of Gibson City; and Ollie of AZ; one sister, Voda Osborne, Mansfield; and his father. He was preceded in death by an infant son, a sister and one brother.

Leonard D. "Pete" Mott, 59, Gibson City died at 1:35 a.m. Monday 2-4-1980 at Gibson Community Hospital. His funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home, with Rev. Hugh Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery. Mr. Mott was born 1-29-1921 in Anchor, Twp., a son of Cecil, Sr. and Augusta Brading Mott. Surviving are two brothers, Earl, Gibson City; and Ollie, of Baton Rouge, La; a sister, Voda Osborne, of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. Everett A. Mott, 48, of Gibson City was pronounced dead on arrival at Gibson Community Hospital at 4:45 a.m. Saturday (1970). R.L. Hayslette, Ford County Coroner determined in an inquiry that death resulted from natural causes. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:30 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Monday. Mr. Mott was born 2-13-1922, at Anchor, a son of Cecil, Sr. and Augusta Brading Mott. He was married to Pauline Lange 7-29-1946 in Chicago. He spent most of his life in the Gibson City area. He was a self-employed contractor. He leaves his widow, daughters, Karen Medler, Gibson City; and Sharon, at home; and sons, Roger, at home, and Pvt. David Mott, Ft. Campbell, KY in the Army. Mr. Mott also leaves a granddaughter, his father of Gibson City; brothers, Earl, Cecil A., Virgil and Leonard, all of Gibson City; Willard, Colfax; and Ollie, Crown Point, Ind., and a sister, Voda Osborne, Mansfield. His mother and one sister preceded him in death.

Earl A.J. Mott, 77, a Gibson City resident for 44 years, died at 7:05 a.m. yesterday (11-4-1988) at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the American Lutheran Church, Gibson City, the Rev. Dane Meuschke officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. tonight at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City and from 1 - 2 p.m. at the Church. Mr. Mott was born 7-20-1911, at Cropsey, a son of Cecil and Augusta Brading Mott. He married Hilda M. Hensen on 1-31-1936 at Anchor and she survives. Other survivors include, one son, Donald, Champaign; two daughters, Delores Turner, Paxton; and Donna Imhoff, Butler, Wis.; one brother, Ollie, Tucson, AZ; one sister, Voda Osborne, Mansfield; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Five brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Mr. Mott was employed at Central Soya Co., Inc. Gibson City for 20 years, retiring in 1964. Harry W. Mott, 85, Gibson City, died at 10 a.m. Saturday (9-24-1977) at Gibson Community Hospital. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Lamb Funeral Home, Dr. Hugh Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 7 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Mott was born 5-23-1892, in Indiana, a son of Asa and Eva Stucker Mott. He married Margaret Hurn. She died. He then married Mary Epley 7-3-1965 at Paxton. She died in 1974. Surviving are four sisters, Myrtle Sinkhorn; Linda Bell, Gibson City; Hattie Kerber, Nancy, KY.; and Florence Smith, New Albany, Ind.; two brothers, Cecil Mott, Monticello; and John Mott, Gibson City, and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two step-daughters, Lillie Moore, Gibson City and Delthia McCarty, Roberts, and a step-son, Buren Epley, Effingham. Mr. Mott was a resident of Gibson City most of his life and was a member of the Community Christian Church.

Mrs. Mamie Rockwood Mottier, 79, died Tuesday evening (November 1945) in a hospital in Madison, Wis. She was injured in an auto accident about a week ago. The body will reach the Lamb Funeral Home Thursday. Services will be held there at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. A.M. Willey officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Mrs. Mottier was born 1-25-1866. She moved to Gibson City with her family when she was a small girl. She was married to Walter F. Mottier, who died in 1938. They moved to Texas about 30 years ago. For the past several years she had made her home with her son in Madison. Two sons, and two daughters survive, John A., Madison; Walter, Pierce, TX.; Julia Frank, Juneau, Alaska; Parthenia Waugh, Detroit, Mich.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Janice Ellen Motto, 46, Bloomington, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday 5-7-1996 in BroMenn Regional Medical Center emergency room following a brief illness. Mrs. Mouser was born 8-4-1928 at McAlester, OK, a daughter of Mose and Lula Blair Acree. She married Joseph Mouser 9-24-1949 at Gibson City and he survives. Other survivors include one son, Joseph Michael (Tara) Mouser, Gibson City; and two sisters, Christine Boma, Piper City and LaVonne Martin, Normal. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Desiree Mouser and Valerie Mouser, both of Gibson City. Her parents, four brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Mouser was a member of the First Christian Church in Gibson City and the American Legion Auxiliary, Piper City.

Bessie Mae Moxley, age 87, a resident of Heartland Health Care in Paxton, formerly of Gibson City, died at 11:10 a.m. Monday 9-6-1999 at the Health Care Center. William C. Munson, 75, a resident of Gibson City for 50 years and former owner-operator of a motor company, died at 2:15 a.m. yesterday 9-11-1985 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. Earl Murdock, age 83 of Monticello, Indiana, formerly of Gibson City died at 12:45 p.m. Monday 5-1-1989 at Home Hospital, Lafayette, Ind. after an extended illness. He was a former restaurant owner. His funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller -Voorhis Funeral Home, Monticello, Indiana. Graveside rites were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation was held from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Murdock was born 10-27-1905 in Gibson City, a son of Otis and Fannie Williams Murdock. He married Maxine Wells 3-13-1941. She died 3-28-1979. Survivors include a son, Thomas Earl, Burke, Va; and three granddaughters. Mr. Murdock had lived in Monticello, Indiana since 1949 moving there from Gibson City. He owned and operated restaurants in Watseka, Gibson City and from 1949 - 1967 in Monticello, Indiana.

Mrs. Ethel M. Murry, 70, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday (6-21-1965) in Gibson Community Hospital, where she had been a patient for two days. Murry, 3-20-1923 at Paxton. He died in 1953. Surviving are three daughters, LaVonne Berkler and Marilyn Zander, both of Gibson City, and Helen Redding, Fisher; a niece, Dorothy Watts, Gibson City, whom Mrs. Murry raised; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband, four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Murry was a member of the Community Christian Church. She was a lifelong resident of Gibson City.

McMahon of Gibson City; one son, Larry L. McMahon of Quincy and one sister, Elsie Snead of Gibson City. He was preceded in death by one brother. Mr. McMahon was employed by Central Soya for 38 years. She died 4-16-1962. Mr. McMahon lived in Fairbury prior to moving to Gibson City in 1921. He at one time served on the Drummer Twp school board. Mrs. McQuiggin was born 9-1-1911 at St. Ignace, MI a daughter of Samuel and Naomi Isabella Cornbough McLean. She married Robert Frank McQuiggin on 2-14-1938 at Bloomington. He died 4-23-1992. Survivors include two daughters, Nina Sue (John P.) Moore of Urbana and Patricia E. (Fred E.) Otton of Urbana; three granddaughters, Janet E. Guynn of Cissna Park, Malinda Jane Byrne of Philo and Nancy Sue Roberts of Urbana; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. McQuiggin retired from Gibson Community Hospital where she worked as a transcriptionist in medical records. Prior to that she managed the Hobby Center in downtown Gibson City. A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gibson City, Mrs. McQuiggin was a recent recipient of an RSVP Award for her continued volunteer work and was a member of the Prairie Village Chorale in Rantoul. Mrs. McQuiggin belonged to the Gibson Area Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered as a Pink Lady. She was a member of the Gibson Community Woman's Club, Pleasant Hour Club. Home Bureau, Booster Club and the PTA. Mrs. McQuiggin was active in the Stephen Ministry at her church and served as a Sunday school teacher until she was in her 70's. Robert Frank McQuiggin, age 82 of Gibson City, a retired farmer and nursing home employee, died at 9:53 p.m. Thursday 4-23-1992 at his home. Mr. McQuiggin moved to the Gibson City area in 1936 and farmed west of Gibson City for the next 37 years. After retiring from farming, he was employed by Gibson Manor, Gibson City, for the next seven years. RaeAnn Marie Meyer, 37, of Champaign, formerly of Gibson City, died at 6:37 p.m. Friday 11-15-1996 after she was hit by a car on Springfield Avenue near her home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Gary Grogan officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 3 - 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a vigil service at 6 p.m. Miss Meyer was born 2-22-1959 at Gibson City, a daughter of James and Anita Magana Meyer. She is survived by her parents, of Gibson City; two daughters, Nina Meyer and Angel Meyer, both of Danville; one brother, James Meyer of Tustin Ranch, Calif.; and one sister, Elise Marren of Chicago. Miss Meyer received her associate's degree from Parkland College. She was a member of the Urbana Assembly of God. Lucille E. Mildner, 83, of Paxton died at 4:15 p.m. Friday 1-10-1992 at the Ford County Nursing Home in Paxton. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Ford - Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, the Rev. Emil Blobaum officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Mrs. Mildner was born 10-28-1908 in Dix Twp, a daughter of Ed and Sena Gregerson Ekbom. She married Everett F. Mildner on 6-19-1948 at Chicago. He died 8-16-1984. Survivors include three cousins, Richard L. Gergerson and Francis Farmer, both of Gibson City, and Kathryn Miller of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. Mrs. Mildner spent her early years in rural Elliott and Paxton. She graduated from Paxton Community High School. She and her husband lived in Chicago for many years. Mrs. Mildner moved back to Paxton in July 1985. At one time, Mrs. Mildner had been employed by Central Illinois Public Service Co. of Paxton and the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago. She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago. WILLIAM J. MILLER
William J. Miller, a resident of Gibson City for a quarter of a century, died on Sunday, 5-31-1936 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Gilbert, in Colfax, Il. where he had been staying for several months. His age was 62 years. Funeral services were held in Lamb's Chapel in Gibson City Tuesday in charge of Rev. Clifford Stabler. Burial in Gibson City Cemetery. William J. Miller, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miller was born near Mound Jackson, VA. in 1874. In 1901 he was united in marriage to Miss Sadie Pence, who preceded him in death in 1925. To this union were born the following children: Tom Miller of Aurora, Colo.; John Miller of Idaho; Edward Miller of Peoria, Il.; Effie Miller and Margaret Miller of Bloomington, Il.; Fred Miller and Bob Miller of Normal, Il.; Mrs. George Gilbert, Colfax, Il.; Harold Miller and Frank Miller of Gibson City. SADIE (PENCE) MILLER
Mrs. William J. Miller died at her home on Tuesday 11-10-1925 after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock last Thursday morning November 12 at the Christian Church, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Herbert G. Hurell. Mrs. Sadie Pence Miller was born 4-17-1884, her age at death being 41 yrs 6 mo 24 da. She became a member of the Mennonite Church in her girlhood. She was married to William J. Miller, March 1901, and the couple had lived a number of years in Gibson City. 14 children were born to them, of whom 10 survive. The youngest being born 10 days before the death of the mother. John Miller, age 75 of Gibson City died at 10:28 p.m. Friday 4-23-1993 at BroMenn Lifecare Center in Bloomington. His funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with the Reverend Dane Meuschke officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. He ws born 4-3-1918 in Gibson City a son of William J. and Sadie Pence Miller. Survivors include three brothers, Robert Miller of Normal; Donald Crone of Peoria; and Harold Miller of Gibson City. He was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters. Mr. Miller was a life-long resident of Gibson City. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corpos. Alice Ileene Miller, age 82 of Gibson City died at 3:45 p.m. Friday 10-7-1994 in Covenant Medical Center in Champaign. She was born 12-25-1911 in Gibson City a daughter of Rollie R. and Hettie Speers Huxtable. She married Frank Miller on 4-30-1932 in Paxton. He died 10-13-1962. Surviving are a grandson whom she raised, Scott Miller of Thorntown, Indiana; two granddaughters whom she raised, Jodi Miller of Rochester, Indiana and Shannon Miller of Cadiz, KY; three great-granddaughters, two sisters, Lillian Fellers of Geneva, Indiana; and Doretta Johnson of Gibson City; and two brothers, Delmar Huxtable of Gibson City and Montel Huxtable of Decatur. A son preceded her in death. Mrs. Miller was a lifelong Gibson City resident. She was a member of the Gibson City United Methodist Church. Ruth M. Miller, 87, of Paxton who with her husband was superintendent of the Ford County Nursing Home for 13 years, died there at 9:20 a.m. yesterday 8-20-1985. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Brown - Miller Funeral Home, Paxton, the Rev. Paul Walles officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp. Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 7 - 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Miller was born 1-26-1898 at Carthage, a daughter of Riley and Florence Loundry Harris. She married Charles E. Miller on 12-16-1914 at Keokuk, Iowa. He died 8-1-1965. Survivors include four sons, Charles and Louis, both of Gibson City; Leo of Champaign; and Owen of Paxton; three daughters, Josephine Storm, Decatur; Ann Clark, Champaign; and Helen Anderson, Paxton; a brother, Lester Harris, Peoria; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren preceded her in death. Mrs. Miller, who formerly lived in Elliott and Bloomington, was a member of the Elliott United Methodist Church and was church pianist for many years. Gertrude Cecilia Miller, age 90 of Chicago died at 7:30 a.m. Monday 12-17-2001 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Melissa Lue Ora Mills, 95, a resident of the Ford County Nursing Home at Paxton, formerly of Gibson City, died at 12:25 a.m. yesterday 9-14-1985 at the nursing home. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, with Dr. Randall Perry officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. She was born on 7-17-1890 at McLeansboro, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Green. She married Ralph R. Mills on 1-12-1912 at Cropsey. He died 4-28-1954. Survivors include one son, Walter Mills, Gibson City; six grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, two daughters and a brother preceded him in death. Mr. Mills had lived in the Gibson City area most of his life. He was employed with Kentland Dairy of Gibson City for many years. She married Brady Hunley, Jr. She later married Percy Miner, Jr. on 10-27-1985 at Gibson City. He died 2-6-1989. Survivors are one son, Robert Miner of Los Angeles, CA; four daughters, Sandra Connley of Champaign; Vera Caston and Bernice Miner, both of Gibson City and Cynthia Chatman of Memphis, TN; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Willie Davis of Champaign, Sam Jones of Los Angeles, CA, Mac Arthur Davis of Gibson City, Charles Davis of Champaign and Alexander Davis of Chicago; and four sisters, Alma Day of Gibson City, Molly Davis of Chicago, Ora Nell Stewart and Betty Kent, both of Champaign. Brooke Marie Martin, 22, Gibson City, died at 6:40 p.m. Friday 5-2-2003 in Normal. No foul play is suspected, according to the McLean County Coroner's Office. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Gibson City, the Rev. Joseph Mundakal officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation was from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with a rosary service at 8 p.m. Ms. Martin was born 11-3-1980 in Urbana, a daughter of John and Linda Anderson Martin. They survive. Also surviving are her fiancee, Adam Nestel of Normal; her maternal grandmother, Adele Anderson of Forrest; and her paternal grandfather, Stanley D. Martin of Hurley, Wis. Her maternal grandfather and her paternal grandmother preceded her in death. Ms. Martin lived in Gibson City all of her life. She graduated from Gibson City - Melvin - Sibley High School in 1998 and had planned to graduate from Illinois State University on Saturday with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a minor in insurance. She was a member of Gamma Iota Sigma Insurance fraternity. She was an active member of and youth liaison at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Gibson City. KENNETH MINEER
Kenneth W. "Unk" Mineer, 79, of Lake Geneva, a former Paxton resident, died at 1 p.m. Sunday 3-9-2003 at Lakeland Medical Center. He had been in failing health for several years. His body was cremated and there were no services. Mr. Mineer was born 4-14-1924 at Paxton, a son of Ernest and Amanda Lind Mineer. He is survived by one brother, George Mineer of Paxton; a sister-in law, Shirley Mineer of Paxton; one nephew, Steve Mineer of Lincoln University, Pa.; one niece, Ginger Mineer of Paxton; and several other relatives. He was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Mineer. Mr. Mineer graduated from Paxton High School and was a fighter pilot in WWII. He retired as a pilot for United Airlines.
ELDEN F. MILLER
Elden F. Miller, 83, of Gibson City, died at 4:25 a.m. Saturday 4-26-2003 at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City. His graveside service was Tuesday at Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City, the Rev. Joseph Mundakal officiating. Military rites were by the Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568, Gibson City. Mr. Miller was born 7-13-1919 in Waterloo, Ind., the son of Frederick and Katherine Karst Miller. He married Alice Wright Jesse on 10-23-1976 in Gibson City. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Michael (Lois) Miller of Indiana; and Kevin (Connie) Miller of Oklahoma; one daughter, Kerin Balyear of Indiana; one stepson, Fred Jesse, Bloomington; one step-daughter, Carolyn (Richard) Moxley, Gibson City; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Miller of Indiana; and three sisters, Mary Ferris and Josephine Riddle, both of Florida; and Phyllis Martman of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters. Mr. Miller was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568 in Gibson City and the Brotherton Keller VFW Post. He was the service manager for Ryder Rental Trucking in Gibson City for many years, retiring in 1982. He had been a resident of Gibson City since 1958. Burial was in the Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at Calvert Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Mansfield, and an hour before the funeral at the center. He died at 8:15 a.m. Friday 5-9-2003 at home. Mr. May was born on 7-27-1928 in Mansfield, the son of Garfield and Thelma Warren May. He married Evelyn Wright on 7-4-1948 in Lotus. She survives. Other survivors include six sons, Michael E. May, Quincy; Kenneth L. (Lola) May, Gibson City; Darrell G. (Dorthea) May, Georgetown, Texas; Duane K. (Debbie) May, Fisher; Randy J.
