Joyce (Jim) Reutter of Milford Connie (Bill) Kruse, Gibson City one sister: Mabel McVicker of Bourbonnais seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Reba Johnson Towers who died 2-22-2003 were at noon Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. Roger L. Boyd officiating. Burial was in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Pallbearers were Russ Munson, Richard Pocic Jr., Randy Pocic, Kyle Munson and Paul Pocic.

Melvin - R. Wendall Thackeray, age 53, of Melvin died at 8:07 a.m. Wednesday 2-26-1992 at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. The Ford County Coroner's office attributed death to natural causes.
JERRY THOMPSON
Hoopeston - Jerry Thompson, 46, of Hoopeston, and formerly of Gibson City, died Thursday 11-6-1986 at his h ome. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Brown-Alkire Funeral Home, Hoopeston. Burial was in Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston. Mr. Thompson was the son of the late Marvin Thompson and Audrey Thompson, former residents of the Paxton area. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; mother, Audrey; and two brothers, Richard of Hoopeston and James of Danville.

Rantoul - Roger Lee Thomsen, 56, of Rantoul, formerly of Gibson City, died at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday 3-31-1999 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

Gibson City - Anna Belle Tibby, 93, Gibson City, died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday 5-28-2002 at Gibson Area Hospital Annex, Gibson City.

BARBARA L. (KARKUT) TRANTINA
Barbara L. Trantina, 66, of Gibson City, formerly of Lockport, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday 1-21-2003 at her home in rural Gibson City. Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. George Catholic Church, Melvin, the Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, with the rosary recited at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Trantina was born 10-24-1936 at Chicago, a daughter of Stanley and Josephine Medzylo Karkut. She married Robert J. Trantina on 1-15-1966 at Lockport and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert Trantina and Bernie (Jaimie) Trantina, both of Sibley; two daughters, Robin (Robert) Rigoni, Lockport; and Mary (Tony) Angus, Sandwich; seven grandchildren; one brother, Ed Karkut, Lockport; and two sisters, Josie Fleming, Urbana; and Theresa Koskiewics, Lockport. Her parents and one sister, Bernice Wolan, preceded her in death. Mrs. Trantina was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Melvin. She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren.

Thurman L. "Corky" Thompson, 73, Gibson City, died at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday 3-5-2003 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Gibson City. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Drummer Twp Cemetery, the Rev. Rebecca Zelensky officiating. Mr. Thompson was born 8-8-1929 in Decatur, a son of Grover and Ruby (Landreth) Thompson. He married Nora E. Swallow 3-31-1974 at Farmer City and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Sharon Thompson of Gibson City; one stepson, Larry (Lori) Swallow of Gibson City; two grandsons, Christopher and Dustin of Gibson City; three sisters, Dorothy Wood, Harriett Thompson and Frances Foster, all of Decatur, and one brother, Grover Thompson of Decatur. His parents, four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Thompson lived in Gibson City for the past 27 years. He worked for the City of Gibson from 1985 - 1992.
