DON VINSON
Don Vinson of Bloomington, formerly of Gibson City, Il. died 7-28-2002 HELP WAS VERY APPRECIATED DURING TIME OF GREAT NEED Thanks to the good Samaritans who stopped to help me on Sunday, July 28, when my husband, Don Vinson, had his fatal heart attack. MARY ANN (JONES) VAN SCOYOC
Mary Ann VanScoyoc, 51, of Gibson City, died at 8 p.m. Thursday 4-17-2003 at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City. Her graveside service was at 11 a.m. Monday at Drummer Twp cemetery, Gibson City, the Rev. Randall Robinson officiating. Mrs. VanScoyoc was born 12-23-1951 in Defiance, Ohio, a daughter of James Edward and Virginia L. Erman Jones. She married Danny Grider on 9-21-1970. She later married Corrie A. VanScoyoc on 11-3-1990 at Markham and he survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Jami (Eric) Grider Hyatt, Fairbury; one son, Matthew Grider, Savoy; one sister, Linda (John) Kamakian, Venice, Fla.; and one aunt, Mary Long, Flossmoor. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Judy Agnes; and her parents. Mrs. VanScoyoc had lived in Gibson City since 1970. She enjoyed flower gardening. She graduated in 1969 from J.I. Case High School in Racine Wis. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to The Drummer Twp Cemetery Tree Memorial Fund. Pallbearerrs were Jim Ferguson, Eric Hyatt, Eric Gee, Justin Carpenter, Jim Follwell and Terry McRae.
ESTHER M. (BUSING) VEHRS
Esther M. Vehrs, 97, of Sibley, died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday 5-10-2003 at the Heritage Manor, Colfax. Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Drummer Twp Cemetery, Gibson City, the Rev. Diane Watson officiated. Visitation was private. Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Vehrs was born 10-10-1905, at Sibley, a daughter of Gustave and Johanna (Kutchera) Busing. She married William H. Vehrs in 1933. He died 3-26-1980. Surviving are many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Mrs. Vehrs was a teacher at Gibson City Elementary School for many years. She and her husband were superintendent and matron at the Oddfellow Childrens' Home in Lincoln. Memorials may be made to Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax, or to the donor's choice. paxton record 5-14-2003
