Lois Eaves LoisEaves@worldnet.att.net
EAVES: Charles S. Eaves - born May 1855. The stories of his life are
varied and many. If there is any truth to any of them - they have been embellished
beyond recognition. Most everyone in the family believe that he was from Scotland.
But I found his marriage certificate in Buffalo Creek CO (1880) that states
that he was from Paxton, Ford County, IL. (If he were born there - he would
have been born in Vermilion Co.) The 1900 MO census - where they moved and lived
out their life - also states that he was from IL but that his parents came from
Scotland. The 1880 Colorado census - states that he was from Scotland. I cannot
find the family in any IL census. The quality of the films is poor - at best.
Since he left home at a very early age and never wanted to contact his family
again - nobody has any knowledge of his parents or siblings. I am hoping that
there will be some record of him - and his birth family somewhere. If you have
any ideas of where I can direct my search - it would be appreciated by many
of his descendents... He had 9 children, 33 grandchildren more g-grand than
I have a count on.

SCHROCK: I didn't realize it until just this afternoon that I should
be pursuing the Schrock surname. I'm having trouble making progress on the King
surname so I decided maybe try to work out some of the "married into"
familes.
Phillip KING and Barbara POWELL m. 23 January 1858, probably Woodford
County.
Child 3 of this union, Edward King b. 23 November 1863 married Elizabeth
Schrock.
Child 7 of this union, Anna Salome King, b. 21 January 1869 mariied Joe
Schrock.
By doing a Social Security database search I came up with: Issuing state=IL
+ surname=Schrock equals 33 names just in and around the Peoria, Woodford, McLean,
Ford counties area. Anyone have this surname in their list? Can anyone do lookups
in marriage, census, or birth indexes?
