Gibson City - Frank M. Probus, 75, of Gibson City, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday 2-16-2002 at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City. His graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington, the Rev. Randall Robinson officiating. Military rites will be accorded by Lee Lowery Amereican Legion Post 568. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb Funeral Home.
LYLE A. PARKER
Lyle A. Parker, age 76 of St. Cloud, FL, formerly of Gibson City, died at 4:11 p.m. Saturday, 7-21-2001 at Orlando Regional Healthcare Center in Orlando, FL. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday July 29 at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City with the Reverend Ken Sloan-Couch officiating. Mr. Parker's cremains and his wife Jeannine's cremains were buried in Drummer Township Cemetery at 11 a.m. July 31 with military rites accorded by the Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568. Mr. Parker was born 3-15-1925 at Bussey, Iowa a son of Francis E. and Margaret Little Parker. He married Jeannine J. Six on 7-31-1946 at Knoxville, Iowa. She died 5-19-1996. Survivors include one son, Edwin (Connie) Parker of Ellsworth; three daughters, Marsha Music of St. Cloud, FL, Nancy (Randy) Dobbins of St. Cloud, FL and Lisa Parker of Waynesville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Fred Parker of Knoxville, Iowa, Thomas Parker and Gerald Parker both of Bussey, Iowa; and three sisters, Myrna Spaur, Mary Wright and Sally Laird all of Knoxville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Mr. Parker moved to St. Cloud, FL from Gibson City in 1990. A WWII veteran serving in the US Navy, Mr. Parker was a member of the Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568, Brotherton Keller VFW Post 6289 and the Loyal Order of the Moose Gibson City Lodge 2289. Mr. Parker retired from Peoples Gas in Fisher after 42 years. For the last six years, he was a greeter at Wal-Mart in St. Cloud FL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
LUELLA R. (ZEIGLER) PETTIT
Luella R. Pettit, age 80 of Washington Cout House, Ohio died at 8:55 a.m. Thursday 12-12-2002 at the Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia, Ohio. She was born in Bond, Ohio on 3-13-1922 a daughter of William and Frances Jeremy Zeigler. She retired in 1993 from the medical records department of Loyola University Hospital in Chicago. She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin B. Pettit; sisters and brothers, Pauline, Emily, Ardella, Johnny and Kenneth Zeigler. She is survived by her husband, Bently B. Pettit; a son, Kenneth (Shirley) Pettit of Washington Court House, Ohio; daughters, Judith (Loy) Crum of Seymour, IN and Jean (Bill) Nelson of Danville; brothers William (Edna) Zeigler of Ashland, Ohio and Charles (Millie) Zeigler of Titusville, FL.; sisters, Dorothy (Elwood) Humphrey of Winter Park, FL, Effie (Marlin) Cole of Tiro, Ohio and Patricia (Danny) Tackett of Shelby, Ohio; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and special caregivers, Emma Blair and Marjorie Athey. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 9:30 a.m. Monday December 16 at St. Colman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Jan Sullivan officiating. Burial was at Drummer Twp Cemetery in Gibson City at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 17. Visitation was from 1 - 5 p.m. December 15 at the Morrow Funeral Home in Washington Court House, Ohio.
