BENTLEY: I visited the Thawville cemetery and found Isabella BARROW BENTLEY 1844-1918. She is buried with Elizabeth B. PEARSON (her daughter?) 1865-1912 and George PEARSON 1852-1949. Next to them is buried George PEARSON, 2/2/1899-10/3/1975, marine in WWI and a 2 yr old PEARSON who I took to be his son. If any of the PEARSON or BENTLEY descendents are still in the area, I would love to exchange information with them or anyone else who may have even a scrap of information. I am descended from Isabella's son Ephraim BENTLEY who is buried across the drive with his brothers John and George.

FREDRICK: Looking for information about my grandfather, Elmer John Fredrick, who was born in either Melvin or Roberts in Ford County. His birthdate was June 19, 1887. By 1912 he had moved to Chicago, but I'm not sure when he left Roberts/Melvin. Elmer's brothers were Frank Alvin Fredrick and Edwin Fredrick. They may have had an infant brother or sister, who died in 1889 at the age of 9 days, as there is a grave at the Lyman Township Cemetery in Roberts with the name Fredrick and that date information. Elmer John Fredrick's mother was Mary Kolp. Her first husband was Christ Fredrick. He may have spelled it Fredricks or Fredericks. Christ Fredrick was born in Germany, and deserted the family when his son Elmer. Mary Kolp Fredrick then married Albert Sandstedt. She then had two more children, George and Eleanor. Elmer Fredrick was a blacksmith, as were Christ Fredrick, and Mary Kolp's father, John Kolp. I believe John Kolp had a blacksmith shop in Roberts, Illinois, and taught August Yackee the trade. Mary Kolp Fredrick Sandstedt had sisters named Louisa and Alvina. Louisa lived to be 100. Mary Kolp's grandfather was Jacob Baumgartner, who emigrated from Switzerland. Mary Kolp was born in Wilmington.
